I see lots of campers, motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels going past today. Many of the motorhomes and pickup campers are pulling boats. With the others, there's often a boat immediately ahead of or behind the RV.

Many of them are headed to Homer to go fishing. This may sound normal, except that we are in Alaska and it was 16 degrees this morning. Shouldn't we be seeing snow machines instead of these other recreational vehicles?

The 17th Annual Homer Winter King Salmon Tournament is Saturday, March 20, 2010. Prizes are worth more than $100,000. These RVers are headed down to try their hand at catching the largest King.
