Life As We Live It ... on the road with Coleen and Bob

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Where In the World Are Coleen and Bob?
(And Just What Are They Doing?)

How did you get started full-timing? That's a question I hear pretty frequently.

We recently received our 20-year membership pin to the Escapees Club. I credit the Escapees Club for giving us the idea of full-time RVing. I remember well one September afternoon in Deadwood, SD, reading a Country Living Magazine. There was a little blurb about the Escapees and how many of their members lived full-time in their recreational vehicles. The following April, we moved out of our traditional home and into full-time RVing.

Thank you to everyone who has sent us well wishes the past couple of weeks. I'm feeling much better. And, yes, we had wonderful day October 3, celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary.

Wherever you are in your travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

Full-time RVing … The Story of How We Got Started As Full-Timers Continues

As fall approached, I heard rumblings of other dealers talking about going to Quartzsite, Arizona. A few talked about their snowbird headquarters in the Texas Valley and the big flea market they worked in Donna. Transient vendors talked of where they’d been or where they were headed. I didn’t think I paid much attention.

Full-time RVing … The Months Tick By, We Begin Full-timing During an Ice Storm

Although accustomed to me having ideas that weren’t exactly ordinary, would Bob think I’d really lost it with this one? My suggestion to him that we sell the house, move into an RV, and that he quit his job so that we could traipse around the country selling used junk at flea markets was met by…

Watkins Summit Group Bus. Info

We need to earn a living, even while we are RVing. Part of our income comes from my being an Independent Watkins Associate (ID #362289) within the Summit Group. You could be one, too.

You may also enroll as an associate just to get the wholesale prices on Watkins products you buy for yourself.

Reviews of Campgrounds and RV Parks

We stayed at these parks last winter while in Missouri, Louisiana, and Texas. If you are heading that direction, you may find these reviews helpful.

Bayview R-V Park, a Peaceful Hide-a-Way for Fishermen and Wildlife Watchers Bayview R-V Park sits in Port Mansfield, TX, a small fishing community on the Gulf Coast. I love finding inexpensive, quiet campgrounds like this, where we share the park with local wildlife.

~ Bayview R-V Park

Park Center RV Park, Port Isabel, Texas' Home to Winter Texans Park Center RV park is a busy Winter Texan campground in Port Isabel, TX, with daily, weekly, and monthly rates. It sits across the causeway from the coveted South Padre Island beaches.

Acadiana Park, a Gem of a City Park Campground in Lafayette, LA Acadiana Park draws us in because of its calm and quietness. We first went to this city campground because it was easy to find and fairly inexpensive. We return because the RV park is peaceful, not crowded, and still the best deal in town.

~ Acadiana

Turkey Creek RV Village, a Campground Near Branson, MO Turkey Creek RV Village makes a fine headquarters while taking in the sights and sounds of Branson, MO. It is a pet friendly campground and has Internet access. It is clean and reasonably priced.

Mustang Island State Park Campground, Near Corpus Christie, Texas Mustang Island State Park has camping facilities. I think of the park as being located in Corpus Christi, TX, but it has a Port Aransas address. It's part of the Texas state park system.
