Where In the World Are Coleen and Bob?
(And Just What Are They Doing?)

In this issue, Bob introduces you to NeeMo, I review a book on decluttering your RV, Bob answers a question about power inverters, and I add a few RVing tips. I guess this is the family issue, as even Dewey, our family cat, gets a mention.

Are gearing up for Christmas festivities? I'm not much on shopping, but I sure enjoy the decorations, special services, and all the gaiety and good cheer.

Bob and I wish you a very Merry Christmas! May your home be filled with love and good tidings, now and throughout the coming New Year.

Wherever you are in your travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

Full-time RVing Tip

Store Christmas decorations in your suitcases. When you take down regular wall hangings, cups, curtains, and other things to put your holiday decorations up, store those things in the suitcases until you are ready to use them again. These storage suitcases can also double as luggage if you need them for non-RV travel.

Bob's Article

Meet NeeMo, He's the New Addition to our RVing Family

We got a new RVing dog: NeeMo. He's black with a white blase on his chest, and little gray around the muzzle and the legs. You get that way when you get a little older, and he is a little older. He has his peculiarities, but he should fit into our household well. We were chosen to be NeeMo's new family. Read the rest of Bob's article.

RVing Tip for RVers with Cats

Mention RVs and gas and thoughts usually turn to the high cost of fuel. We had a different gas problem in our RV a few years back. Dewey is an adorable, extremely loving cat that we adopted from the shelter. He seemed perfect. Realists that we are, we wondered what his quirk would be. Ahhh, the gas problem. Dr. Matt, the local veterinarian, advised giving him a spoonful of plain yogurt every day – any brand, as long as it has live cultures in it. It works.

Your RV Life and Travel Questions Answered

Power Inverters and C-pap Machines

~~ A future RVer asks: Will C-pap machines work with power inverters? My husband and I have bought our motorhome and will be RVing fulltime by August of this year. We bought a Fleetwood Flair. We both wear C-pap machines at night and don't want to have to run our generator while traveling or boondocking.

~~ I answered in part: I can certainly see why you'd want to go with a solar system to power your medical devices.

~~ Bob answered: I would look at the machine and see the actual power usage. You may think about a dedicated battery bank, with an isolator, batteries, and a quality, well built inverter.

RV Life and Travel Tip

Is your RV or your RV travel a legal tax deduction? If you use your RV for business travel, some of your expenses may be legal income tax deductions. Your RV may also qualify as a second home, where the interest may be deductible. The usual advice applies: check with your accountant or tax professional.

Keeping your RV neat and tidy can be a challenge. Especially if you are a shopper. Especially if having a place for everything and putting everything in its place is a foreign concept to you.

RV Life and Travel Tip

Find inexpensive souvenirs of your travels at thrift shops. Expect to find the usual things: mugs, plates, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and trinkets. Also, look for sports memorabilia of local teams. You may also find cookbooks from local churches. Other likely finds are books, CDs, paintings, and crafts from local authors, entertainers, and artists.

Positive Christmas Quotes for RVers

My idea of Christmas, whether old-fashioned or modern, is very simple: loving others. Come to think of it, why do we have to wait for Christmas to do that? ~ Bob Hope

Christmas gift suggestions: To your enemy, forgiveness. To an opponent, tolerance. To a friend, your heart. To a customer, service. To all, charity. To every child, a good example. To yourself, respect. ~ Oren Arnold
