Bayview R-V Park, a Peaceful Hide-a-Way for Fishermen and Wildlife Watchers

Bayview R-V Park sits in Port Mansfield, TX, a small fishing community on the Gulf Coast. I love finding inexpensive, quiet campgrounds like this, where we share the park with local wildlife.

Bayview RV Park

We arrived in mid February. The campground, as well as the community, is laid back this time of year. People are friendly. No one seems to be in much of hurry. Herds of white tail deer and flocks of wild turkeys roam through the town.

The campground is an older one. There's a mix of mobile homes and recreational vehicles. Some of the residents are permanent. The sites are grassy, and as is typical for this part of the country, there are stickers in the grass. There's a not-too-fancy rec hall. Showers and bathrooms are in the rec hall. So is the washing machine and clothes dryer.

The RV sites here are larger than they are in many campgrounds. Some of them are pull-throughs. I think they all have water, sewer, and electrical hook-ups. There's no cable TV. There is, however, free WiFi at the sites. My cell phone works here for calls, but not for email or Internet access. A few palm trees dot the park, but most of the sites are in full sun.

If you are looking for a fancy park, with a busy activities program, this park is not for you.

Since we prefer things to be quiet and peaceful, we really like it here. The owner is friendly, as are the other residents. RVs are spaced far enough apart that we can actually enjoy the view. Pets are welcome. It is only a few blocks from the county park where there is a public fishing pier. We also like the low monthly rates.
