Hannah's Taqueria & Cake: a Cafe, Bakery, and Piñata Store

Hannah's Taqueria & Cake is the place to go for the piñata for your party. This Port Isabel restaurant also has Mexican pastries and cakes, along with typical breakfasts and Mexican food lunches.

The restaurant is decorated with colorful piñatas hanging from the ceiling. Pinatas also hang on the walls. One resembles Sponge Bob Square Pants. Another is a huge star in the red, green, and white colors of the Mexican flag.

Lettering on the front windows reminds passersby to order their piñatas and cakes. I didn't notice the cooler with cakes in it until we were on our way out. We may need to make a return visit to give them a try.

The television was on, tuned to a Mexican station. Otherwise, the restaurant was pretty quiet.

Bob had French toast. The bread was dipped in a basic egg, milk, and sugar mixture. It was served dusted with powdered sugar.

My breakfast taco had an egg and refried bean filling. I particularly liked the salsa they served with it.

Parking beside the restaurant is roomy enough for conversion vans and Class B motorhomes. There is limited parking on the side street across from the café that has long enough spaces for trucks pulling trailers or for larger motorhomes.
