Restaurants In Port Isabel, Texas: RVers Have Many Choices Restaurants in Port Isabel, Texas, offer RVers and vacationers a mix of local cafes, fast food, and upscale eateries. Authentic Mexican and fresh seafood (especially shrimp) abounds.

A Texas RV Show: The "All Valley" Rio Grande Valley RV Show in Mercedes A Texas RV show announcement caught our attention. The newest recreational vehicles, information on campgrounds and resorts, vendor booths of RVing supplies. We headed to Mercedes for the RGV show.

Texas Outdoor Family Workshops Teach Camping Skills Family workshops help new campers in Texas with their camping skills. Texas State Park Rangers are offering family classes with camping instruction at the state parks. They even provide the equipment.

El Jefe's Restaurant and Cantina, the Port Mansfield Local's Cafe and Bar El Jefe's Restaurant and Cantina is our "go to" place for breakfast in Port Mansfield. It's casual and friendly. The food and view are excellent. Breakfast tacos are generous and moderately priced.

Windjammer Restaurant and Lounge - Classic American Food, Fish, and Salad Bar The Windjammer Restaurant and Lounge is Port Mansfield's eatery for, what I call, "ordinary American food." Still in south Texas and needing a break from Mexican food, we found it a welcome change.

Sweet Gregory P's Serves Up the BBQ in Port Mansfield Sweet Gregory P's is where you go for bar-b-que in Port Mansfield. Pulled pork, beef brisket, smokehouse sausage, ribs, and smoked ham was on the menu the day we stopped in for a late lunch.

Galveston Island RV Resort: A Highly Rated RV Park in Galveston, Texas Galveston Island RV Resort, Galveston, Texas, is one of the nicest and newest RV parks we've visited. I'm impressed with the utilities -- the water, sewer, and electrical systems. And the wi-fi.

Bayview R-V Park, a Peaceful Hide-a-Way for Fishermen and Wildlife Watchers Bayview R-V Park sits in Port Mansfield, TX, a small fishing community on the Gulf Coast. I love finding inexpensive, quiet campgrounds like this, where we share the park with local wildlife.

Park Center RV Park, Port Isabel, Texas' Home to Winter Texans Park Center RV park is a busy Winter Texan campground in Port Isabel, TX, with daily, weekly, and monthly rates. It sits across the causeway from the coveted South Padre Island beaches.

The Port Isabel Sunset Paints the Canal with a Golden Blush The Port Isabel sunset casts a glow on the shrimp boats in the canal, as well as on the water, fishing piers, and buildings behind them. This was our evening view from the campsite at Park Center.

The Port Mansfield Sunset Radiates Brilliantly Behind the Palms The Port Mansfield sunset is a fiery ball of brilliance behind the palm trees. These pictures show our view from Bayview R-V Park. We're treated to this glowing scene most every evening.

Mexiquito Restaurant Satisfies RVers with Its Breakfast Specials The Mexiquito Restaurant attracts RVers with its bright green building and its breakfast specials. Winter Texans also go to this Port Isabel café for its all-you-can-eat shrimp and fish plates.

Pelicans Watching the Fisherman at Park Center RV Park, Port Isabel, Texas Pelicans hang around the beach waiting for fisherman to clean their catch and throw the carcasses into the water. I captured these shots at the docks at the Park Center RV Park in Port Isabel, TX.

Farm Equipment, Antique Engines, and Old Tools at the RGV Club Show Farm equipment wasn't what we expected to see at the RGV Livestock Show Grounds. But the hit and miss engines, old tractors and other antique machinery, and tool displays were a fun find.

The Port Isabel Flea Market, a Sunday Market Offering Antiques to Baked Goods The Port Isabel Flea Market is a fun place to stop after Sunday morning church or breakfast. The first booth we saw was a colorful display of metal lawn art. Then rocks. We ambled in to see more.

Los Cabos Mexican Restaurant: A Port Isabel Favorite for Mexican Breakfast Los Cabos Mexican Restaurant just took the number one spot on our list of Port Isabel places to eat. Tasty food, friendly and efficient service, can't-be-beat prices, generous servings, and clean.

Pancho's Mexican Restaurant for Authentic Mexican Food Lunch Pancho's Mexican Restaurant is the most authentic Mexican cafe we've been to since we've been in Port Isabel, TX. Excellent steak rancheros, homemade chips, good service, and reasonable prices.

Marchan's White Sands Seafood Restaurant and Bar Waterfront Dining Marchan's White Sands caters to winter Texans. We went for dinner tonight and the place was full of senior RVers, feasting on specially priced meals. It's a seafood restaurant overlooking the water.

Guanajuato Mexican Restaurant: After 10 Years, It Doesn't Disappoint Us Guanajuato Mexican Restaurant has excellent food, reasonable prices, and room in the parking lot for RVs. It's our first day back in Texas, after a ten year or so absence, and we wanted Mexican food.

Bayside Delicatessen: Laguna Vista Restaurant Overflowing with RVers Bayside Delicatessen isn't just a deli sub sandwich shop. The cafe has a full menu, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It includes American and Mexican food. It also features fresh bakery goods.

Hannah's Taqueria & Cake; a Café, Bakery, and Piñata Store Hannah's Taqueria & Cake is the place to go for the piñata for your party. This Port Isabel restaurant also has Mexican pastries and cakes, along with typical breakfasts and Mexican food lunches.

Mustang Island State Park Campground, Near Corpus Christie, Texas Mustang Island State Park has camping facilities. I think of the park as being located in Corpus Christi, TX, but it has a Port Aransas address. It's part of the Texas state park system.
