The Rally, Affinity's Largest RV Rally for 2010, Celebrates 100 Years of RVing

The Rally 2010 could be the biggest event of the 100th Anniversary of RVing celebration. RV enthusiasts will gather at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, KY, July 22-25, 2010.



The Rally 2010 could be the biggest event of the 100th Anniversary of RVing celebration. RV enthusiasts will gather at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, KY, July 22-25, 2010.

In celebration of the RV Centennial, a special living display of vintage recreational vehicles will be on hand. The display is organized by Al Hesselbart, the official RV historian at the RV/MH Hall of Fame in Elkhart, IN. There will be a contest at the Rally for the oldest RV in attendance.

Plan for entertainment, seminars, exhibits, contests, new rigs, and activities for all ages.

RV rallies typically have excellent entertainment. Country music artist Tanya Tucker will undoubtedly live up to that standard this year. Also appearing are Bob Newhart and Super Diamond.

One of the activities this year is a dog show A majority of RV owners travel with pets, dogs being the most popular. The dog show is expected to draw dozens of dogs, plus hundreds of people watching in the grandstands.

The Rally boasts an online area for Internet access. It is popular among RVers who travel with laptops.

There are more than 30 seminars scheduled for each day beginning on July 21, all of which are free to registered attendees of The Rally (not including Day Pass holders). Among the other seminar topics are:

* Campground safety* Cell phones and mobile communications* Computers* Dinghy towing* Engine performance* Exterior and interior cleaning and maintenance* Financial planning*Healthy cooking* Hitches and towing* Motorhome chassis* Pet care on the road*Places to go* Propane* RV insurance* RV tours and caraventures* Suspension systems

Commercial exhibits include more than 500 booths featuring the latest in RV products and services. Visitors will find everything from personalized license-plate frames to tow bars to clothing. Beyond those will be more than 1,000 new units on display from some of the leading manufacturers and dealers in the United States.

The base price of camping for this RV event is $179 (two people in a rig, dry camping) includes admission to all seminars and exhibits, the various club or publication day activities, and the evening entertainment. Day passes are available for $10 per person. People who want to attend The Rally without their RV and stay for the entertainment may purchase a Rally Passport for $69 per person, which is good July 21 – 25, 2010.

Recreation vehicle (RV) owners from nearly every state and province are expected. Attendance is expected to be around 4,500 RVs, which accounts for about 10,000 people at the event each day.

The Rally (formerly called the Great North American RV Rally) is an annual event hosted by the Good Sam Club, Camping World President’s Club, Coast to Coast Resorts, Woodall’s, Trailer Life Magazine, and MotorHome Magazine. All the organizations are owned by Affinity Group Inc., which is headquartered in Ventura, Calif.
