Life As We Live It ... on the road with Coleen and Bob

Where In the World Are Coleen and Bob?
(And Just What Are They Doing?)

We're still in Port Mansfield, TX. I've had quite a few people asking about the community and the park where we are staying, Bayview R-V Park. Here's the link to the review of the campground: Bayview R-V Park Info. Port Mansfield is located on the eastern coast of Texas, part way between Corpus Christi and Port Isabel.

Bob's fishing. And, writing! There's another one of his articles in this issue. It's not a glamorous issue, but it's one we need to deal with.

I've been in a sorting and tossing mode. Maybe the urge struck because it is officially spring. More likely, it's because I have a couple of storage containers that are overstuffed to the point the lids don't snap shut. Stuff sure does accumulate.

Wherever you are in your travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

Put charcoal in your tool box or fishing tackle box to absorb moisture and help keep things from rusting.

A Safety Wakeup Call -- Doors Are There for a Reason

Earlier this week, a fellow RVer, whom I had never met, opened the door to our motorhome. I was sitting there dozing at the time. Bob had left some of his fishing gear outside the door and the noise it made when the door opened woke me. I was startled and upset by this intrusion.

Bob's Article

My Dog Has Fleas

Yes, my dog has fleas. Being from Alaska, we haven't been bothered with the pesky little critters for the last 10 years. At least in close quarters we noticed them before there was a bad infestation.

Your RV Life and Travel Questions Answered

Preventing Generator Theft

~~ Suzanne asks: This concerns preventing generator theft. We are in the process of buying two 2000 watt Honda generators. My question is, How do you keep them from being stolen?

~~ I answered in part: Since your generators are new, you probably don't want to get them scratched. You may want to use a high-test vinyl covered cable instead of a chain.

~~ Read the rest of my answer -- and offer additional advice -- on the website.

Reader Feedback

~~ John H. writes: Tell Bob I think it is a great idea that he has decided to write some articles. I know that you usually tell about things he does but I believe many like me would enjoy hearing many of these from his perspective (no offence Coleen) and that is coming from a 64 year old male. Enjoyed his reasoning and difficulties with making a decision on the boat and mnotor, and I have never had one and don't plan on getting one but I think the process applies to many things we might buy.

Let your black water tank get at least half full before emptying it, so there is liquid in it to help with dumping.
