Where In the World Are Coleen and Bob?
(And Just What Are They Doing?)

Decorating an RV for Christmas? If you're used to having a gigantic tree, you'll need to look at things differently. I love Christmas. Anywhere. We've celebrated Christmas in Alaska and in southern Texas, and in points in between. Every Christmas, no matter our location, is magical! I always find room for a tree, albeit a small one. I'm busy decorating again this year.

Meanwhile, Bob's busy answering your RVing questions. There have been several about tires and what causes tire problems. More about that later in this issue.

If you'd like to send me pictures of your RV when it's decorated for Christmas, that would be great. I'd love to see them and to share them with our readers.

Wherever you are in your travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Come On In and Smell Christmas: Decorating an RV for Christmas

I wrote this article a few years back. Of all the articles I've written over the years, this just may be my favorite. It includes some practical, helpful tips for decorating an RV for Christmas. But more than that, I think it captures our feeling for Christmas. I hope that you enjoy it.

Bob shares some of our experiences and explains how the cupping and shock problems could be related. Read more about this on our website, where you can also add your comments.

Cold Weather RVing

With all the cold weather that has been striking across the country, I thought maybe some of the tips in our cold weather RVing section could be helpful. And, at the very least, if you are where it is 40 degrees (but where you expected it to be 70 or so) looking at these articles can be a reminder that "cold" is relative.

Shop State and National Park Gift Stores

Did you know you can buy a campground gift card that's good for campsites? Or that you can gift a fishing license? If you are looking for some unique gift ideas, shop the gift stores at state and national parks. I hadn't thought about it until I received an email from the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism suggesting I do my shopping with them. A bit of research, and I found some neat gift ideas from various state parks. Go to our website to read more about what I found.

Full-time RVing Tip

Celebrate and make memories. As you can tell, in our house we celebrate Christmas. But whether you celebrate Christmas or some other winter holiday -- do celebrate it. Don't let the idea of being in a small RV stop you from celebrating. Put up decorations. Take in the season. If celebrating the holidays for you means being with family and friends, then find some to celebrate with. Many RVers think of other RVers as family and will welcome your company. If this is your first holiday season while full-time RVing, it's bound to be different from Christmases past. Make that a good thing. Make this a holiday season to remember.

Positive RVing Attitudes

Christmas, my child, is love in action. ~ Dale Evans

I heard the bells on Christmas Day. Their old, familiar carols play. And wild and sweet the words repeat. Of peace on earth, good-will to men! ~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
