Life As We Live It ... on the road with Coleen and Bob

Where In the World Are Coleen and Bob?
(And Just What Are They Doing?)

Bob's been fishing. Sunday, he went out halibut fishing from Homer. This time, he went with a friend, in his friend's boat, not on a commercial charter. He came back with a nice halibut. As halibut go, it was on the small side, about 20 pounds. Halibut that size are called "chickens" and are said to be better for eating than the barn-door big ones. He also caught gray cod, another mild, white-fleshed fish that we like to eat. More important than the fish he brought home, he had a good time.

Me? I stayed in our rig where it was warm and comfy.

Doesn't seem to matter if we are in Alaska or southern Texas, Bob likes to fish. You can read about some of his fishing trips and tips on our website.

RV Life and Travel Tip

If you go out on a boat sight-seeing or fishing, ginger can help prevent seasickness. There’s really not enough ginger in most cookies to matter. Get the candied (crystallized) slices in the spice section or with the dried fruit, and eat it like candy throughout the day on the water.

RV Life and Travel Tip

To make your RV feel like home and not a camper:

• Use real dishes (not plastic or paper).
• Use real cooking utensils (not lightweight, special RV ones).
• Use cloth placemats and napkins.
