News Release from South Dakota State Parks
(No Park Admission Fees - No Fishing License Required)
Free entrance to South Dakota state parks and free fishing! Each spring, the South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks hosts an open house with these freebies.
The open house and free fishing days are always the weekend before Memorial Day weekend. For 2015, that's May 15- 17. In addition to free admission to the parks, they do not require you to have a fishing license those days.
Camping fees, however, are not waived.
