Restaurants in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Here are some of the restaurants in Pigeon Forge that we patronized:

Huck Finn's Catfish
3330 Parkway
Pigeon Forge, TN 37863
(865) 429-3353

Huck Finn's Catfish restaurant is our favorite place to eat in Pigeon Forge! Go for lunch. They start you out with what they call "vittles," served family style -- a bowl of ham and beans, a dish of coleslaw, a plate with pickle spears and sliced onions, and a basket of hushpuppies for everyone at the table to share. Then, each person orders an entrée, which they serve normal restaurant style. You can make a meal out of the vittles, but the fried catfish and spicy grilled shrimp are too good to pass by. And, by the way, the vittles at Huck Finn's Catfish are bottomless, meaning they will give you refills. If you have a small RV, you'll probably do okay with parking, but I'd suggest leaving the RV in the campground and riding the trolley.

Cielito Lindo Mexican Grill
3965 Parkway
Pigeon Forge, TN 37863
Phone: (865) 774-2332

Dinner at Cielito Lindo Mexican Grill was top notch all the way -- excellent food and service, reasonable prices, and a pleasant atmosphere. Not in a fancy, pretentious way, but in the way Mexican food should be -- flavorful food served steaming hot, in a colorful and upbeat setting, with a friendly and efficient staff. The menu is extensive. Cielito Lindo Mexican Grill is one of the few places that the food smells and looks as good when you are full and satisfied as when you are hungry. As we were walking out, not wanting another bite -- and carrying to-go boxes with leftovers -- a server walked past us with a sizzling plate of fajitas, "Those smell so good," we both chimed. RV parking for large rigs may be iffy.

Sitar Indian Cuisine

903 Parkway
Sevierville, TN 37862
(865) 366-1380

Sitar Indian Cuisine has a lunch buffet, plus a menu. The restaurant was quiet, clean, and a pleasant place to go for and Indian food lunch. (We haven't been there for dinner.) It wasn't a huge buffet, but we enjoyed the variety of chicken and vegetarian dishes. Sitar Indian Cuisine has off street parking and we had plenty of room to park our motorhome.

Frizzle Chicken Pancake Coop
2785 Parkway
Pigeon Forge, TN 37863
(865) 774-7707

Frizzle Chicken Pancake Coop is more than pancakes. They have an extensive breakfast menu, including some biscuit combinations we don't normally find. I had a huge and fluffy cathead biscuit, topped with chicken breast, fried onion rings, tomato jam, a poached egg, and hollandaise sauce. Bob's biscuits were topped with country ham, fried green tomatoes, poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce. Other variations featured pulled pork or beef brisket. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was pleasant. Frizzle Chicken Pancake Coop has a large parking lot behind the restaurant, making it very RV friendly.

Number 1 Chinese Restaurant
574 Winfield Dunn Pkwy
Sevierville, TN 37876
(865) 453-9902

Number 1 Chinese Restaurant is also known as the Number 1 Chinese Buffet. We liked the food, the service, and the price. The food was fresh and frequently refilled, with steam table dishes hot, and chilled dishes sitting on a bed of ice. Some of the customers came primarily for the sushi, mussels on the half-shell, and chilled peel-and-eat shrimp. The price was downright cheap, especially for being in the Pigeon Forge/Sevierville tourist area. The No. 1 Chinese Buffet is in a strip mall, the same one with the Aldi grocery store. There is plenty of parking, even for large RVs.

China 1 Buffet Chinese Restaurant Japanese Hibachi
3909 Parkway
Pigeon Forge, TN 37863
(865) 428-6688

We ate lunch at China 1 Buffet, and enjoyed it. There was unexpected variety. One of our favorite dishes on the buffet was a stir-fried noodle dish that tasted like Indian curry. The dishes labeled "Spicy" actually had some visible chilies and a bit of kick, which is a good thing. If you like Chinese seafood, they had mussels, peel-and-eat shrimp, and a krab and cheese casserole. They refilled the trays throughout the time we were there. I'm not sure where the "Japanese Hibachi" part of the name comes from -- I didn't see it. If you are in Pigeon Forge and want Thai Food, they have a handful of Thai dishes you can order from the menu. If you are in an RV when you go to China 1 Buffet, plan to park in the large parking lot behind the restaurant, not in the parking area in front.

Waffle House
3949 Parkway
Pigeon Forge, TN 37863
(865) 286-9831

Waffle House offers basic, but tasty, inexpensive meals, served quickly, by some of the friendliest staff around. For the best deals, ask for the "$5 Menu," which includes several breakfast and lunches, complete with a beverage, for five bucks. The diner is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. One quirk about Waffle House is that they do not have deep fryers -- sandwiches come with hash browns instead of fries. This Waffle House parking lot is okay for small recreation vehicles, but isn't really suitable for large RVs.

Wood Grill Buffet
2301 Parkway, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863
(865) 429-3120

I'm not sure how to describe the atmosphere of the Wood Grill Buffet. Going in, we definitely had second thoughts. The cashier and hostess did nothing to make us feel welcome. Honestly, I'm not sure why we stayed. But, our waitress turned out to be friendly and competent, and we enjoyed the food. I was impressed that the hot buffet items were, indeed, hot -- and fresh. We only realized the Wood Grill Buffet was a chain restaurant when we saw the bottles of Western Sizzlin ketchup on the tables. Getting in and out of the restaurant building was a bit like a maze, but we finally wound our way around to find a video sign pointing the way to the correct exit. Look in the tourist coupon books for coupons before you go. The parking lot is huge, with designated spaces for RVs and buses.

Smoky's Pancake Cabin
4235 Parkway
Pigeon Forge, TN 37863
865-412-0986

Smoky's Pancake Cabin is one of many pancake houses in Pigeon Forge. Open for breakfast and lunch, it specializes in, well, yes, pancakes. All sorts of pancakes. Bob had the Pineapple Upside Down Pancakes, one of the specialties on the menu. I opted for biscuits and gravy; the biscuits were light and fluffy, and the gravy had chunks of sausage. The food was very good. RV parking at Smoky's Pancake Cabin is iffy, so if you have a big RV, opt to take the Pigeon Forge trolley.- - - -

Long John Silver's
3660 Parkway
Pigeon Forge, TN 37863
(865) 453-6204

Long John Silver's is fried fish, fries, and hush puppies. Oh, I think the menu includes baked fish, but when we go there, it's for fried food. Crisp breading, mild fish, served hot -- that's what I wanted, and that's what I got. The accompanying coleslaw and hush puppies were good, too. The real surprise was the crab cake -- delish! Long John Silver's is fast food, order at the counter, for eat-in or take-out, with a drive-through window. Our motorhome fit in the pull-through parking spaces in the back.

Harpoon Harry's Crab House

112 Community Center Dr.
Pigeon Forge, TN 37863
(865) 428-2006

Harpoon Harry's Crab House has a broad selection of fish and seafood, including buckets of crab and sushi. You can choose to eat out on the patio or in the dining room. We went for lunch, because lunch prices are considerably less than dinner prices. I enjoyed the crab cake sandwich. Bob said his blackened grouper sandwich was very tasty. Harpoon Harry's Crab House has a reasonably large parking lot; we parked our motorhome there with no problem.

Bullfish Grill
2441 Parkway
Pigeon Forge, TN 37863

Bullfish Grill's Sunday brunch menu enticed us in with Chesapeake Bay Benedict, a variation of eggs Benedict that included crab cakes instead of Canadian bacon. The petite portions of food were tasty and nicely plated. There's a large parking lot behind the restaurant with pull-through, double length parking spaces, making Bullfish Grill very RV friendly.

Thai Basil
530 Winfield Dunn Pkwy
Sevierville, TN 37862
Phone: (865) 453-9339

The lunch we had at Thai Basil was fresh tasting, with mild flavors. We ordered appetizers, plus lunch specials that included soup and entrees. I expected to have some to take home, but the portions were so small that we finished it all -- and went somewhere else to get dessert afterwards. Thai Basil is located in a strip mall with a large parking lot, making it very RV friendly, even for big rigs.

Reagan's House of Pancakes
2820 Parkway
Pigeon Forge, TN 37863
(865) 428-0652

Reagan's House of Pancakes is one of many pancake houses in Pigeon Forge. They do have a menu, but most people were choosing the breakfast buffet. They have off street parking, adequate for small RVs, or take the trolley. Reagan's House of Pancakes has discount coupons in the tourist coupon ad books and they also gave a discount when we showed a gas purchase receipt from the Marathon station next door.

Cici's Pizza Buffet
3189 Parkway
Pigeon Forge, TN 37863
(865) 366-1616

A typical Cici's buffet, with lots kids and noise. Many of the racks with tourist attraction brochures had Cici's rack card ads offering a free buffet with the purchase of an adult buffet and two beverages. Cici's Pizza Buffet has a large parking lot behind the restaurant, making it very RV friendly.

Sakura Japanese Buffet
624 Parkway
Sevierville, TN 37862
Phone: (865) 429-2268

Sakura Japanese Buffet is a large buffet restaurant, with a sushi bar, hot and cold bars, and an open grill. It's a popular place -- the evening we were there, the line waiting to get a table extended out the door. To me, it seemed like a Chinese buffet with a Mongolian grill, however they call it a Japanese hibachi. The parking lot was crowded.

Bennett's Pit Bar-B-Que
2910 Parkway
Pigeon Forge, TN 37863
(865) 429-2200

We went to Bennett's Pit Bar-B-Que for lunch.
